The dark places...

Is this chain to keep me out or to keep something in?
I love walking around the forests of Colorado and coming upon the remains of an old homestead abandoned for a century. Not in a city or a town, just alone and sitting quiet in the deep of the woods. This abandoned structure reminded me of a line from the Lord of the Rings "There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of the world" and thought it was appropriate for this structure as it was pitch black inside.

The answer to your question is yes, I did dare to venture into this and found absolutely nothing. I like the mystery of not knowing what was behind this door much better.
