Nizwa, Oman The battlements of Nizwa Fort, built in 1668 to defend the trade routes that passed through the area, towering over the souk with a mineret in the background. Oman must have had a very turbulent past as the country is dotted with fortresses and watch towers. 1/250 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200 EF70-200mm f2.8L (@160mm)
