Highland Park, Detroit, MI - Abandoned police station, fire hall, and court house (this shot). A friend and I were in Detroit and on a detour wandered back to this spot for its unique stairwell (which I came back to shoot). Unfortunately the iron/copper scrappers got to it, before I could since my last visit. This is what it looked like in 2007! The destruction marked the end of a complex of buildings that was massively unsafe, and against my better judgement I still went for one last time.
The news of its distraction was sent to me on the Monday after the Sunday visit - not knowing I was probably going to be one of its last visitors.
